VIDEO PROJECTOR RENTAL

DLP, LCD, Laser – what kind of video projector you need

There are various video projector rental to choose from, but most important is to know the purpose.  Some need a presentation tool in business rooms and others require a large video screen behind on a stage. First things first.

An LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) video projector utilizes a light source that passes light through 3 LCD Chips (red, green, and blue) to create and project images.
DLP (Digital Light Processing) projectors employ a combination of a color wheel and chip that contains microscopic tilting mirrors. The light passes through the color wheel, reflects off the mirrors and is then projected on a screen.

The most modern combination is a Laser Projector with a DLP Chip. Very efficient light output with low energy costs.

LEDLamp, and Laser are the commonly used light sources for projectors. We provide every kind, to offer you the right video projector rental for your needs.

LED (Light Emitting Diods) are very small and can be assigned to emit just one color (red, green, or blue). With their small size, projectors can be made quite compact, but the downside is the weak light output.
Lamp has a much higher light output than an LED. However, lamps still waste a lot of energy, even though only the primary colors are actually needed. By that they produce a lot of heat, necessitating the use of a fan to keep it cool.
So is a Laser (Light Amplification by Simulated Emission of Radiation) the best alternative? They provide a wider color gamut, have an increased light output and a longer source life. But as you can already imagine, the laser is the most expensive source of light.

Although the 4:3 format is nearly extinct, we still offer it like the conventional 16:9 and 16:10 format. Starting from 2m up to 7m width, video screens are variable in size and format. It doesn’t matter whether they stand on the ground, are mounted to a wall or hang on a truss. They can be fixed nearly in every position. Just keep in mind that the projector needs a position too.

For larger needs greater than 7m, custom made frames and surfaces are build in any size on-site. Even curved isn’t an issue and is an eye-catcher when the video content is shown.

Brightness is measured in lumen. The indication ANSI (American National Standards Institute) is a testing method to make them all comparable.

How bright your projector needs to be depends on three parameters. The size of the projection screen, the distance to it and the brightness of the environment. A conference room in a hotel, with a small video screen and a short distance a projector with ca. 6.000 ANSI Lumen is recommended. If the projector is on the other side of the conference room, we recommend ca. 12.000 ANSI Lumen.

Large video screens with a width greater than 4m need more powerful projectors like the Panasonic PT-DZ13k. Even larger video screens or video mapping purposes require 20.000 up to 40.000 ANSI Lumen projectors. Contact us and let us plan your event.
